February 19th – Competition 1 – Subject: Nightlife
Not just about what entertainment’s available in town at night but anything that living organisms get up to in the dark. Well almost!
(Images to be handed in 12th February – memory stick or emailed to Paul)
April 16th – Competition 2 – Subject: Altered Reality
Easier than it sounds and could include fake images, optical illusion, close-ups, infrared, in-camera manipulation, post-capture trickery and printing distortion. In fact the world is your onion on this one but it must all be your own work!
(Images to be handed in 9th April – memory stick or emailed to Paul)
September 17th – Competition 3 – Subject: Home
Lots of scope here too as it’s not just about images of houses or those from a domestic setting. Could include wildlife, travel, macro, documentary and even sport provided ‘home’ is the key theme.
(Images to be handed in 10th September – memory stick or emailed to Paul)
October 15th – Competition 4 – Subject: Sunrise/Sunset
Primarily this year’s venture into ‘scapes’ photography but not exclusively so. Could include other photographic genres such as macro, still life, nature and documentary but the sun rising or going down must be the key theme of each image.
(Images to be handed in 8th October – memory stick or emailed to Paul)
November 19th – Competition 5 – Subject: Geoff Brady Printed Portrait
Images to be handed in on the night, they must be mounted and not framed.
We’ll again keep things flexible with anything from head only to full body images and including environmental portraits. Individuals and pairs only please, no pets.
December 17th – Competition 6 – Subject: Photographer of the Year
Image to be handed in on the night of the Christmas Social, informal display of printed images (mounted and not framed).
Single print of your best specific subject (TBC) images judged by fellow members at the Christmas social.
